Situated on Giudecca Island, The Residenza dates back to the 16th century, and was formerly the home of a number of Venetian noble families. In the early part of the 20th century, it became an upscale pensione, catering to an eclectic clientele of painters, writers and actors. In 2011 it was completely renovated, retaining original features, and divided into apartments, to create a residential villa with hotel services.
The luxury apartments consist of 3 with one bedroom and 8 with two bedrooms, of which 9 can be connected to create larger apartments of up to 6 - 8 rooms. The Residenza is surrounded by a stunning three acre private garden, the largest in Venice, with an outdoor ‘meditation’ pool. Indoor amenities include a reading room and wine bar with working fireplaces, a winter garden lobby with views of the city and the garden, original wall frescoes and Italian wood or Venetian terrazzo floors. All the apartments (except Turchese and Opale, which are the two small apartments on the ground floor) has a custom designed kitchen, well equipped including a Nespresso coffee machine. All the apartments have air conditioning, complimentary wi-fi, I-Pod docking station, satellite TV, DVD and CD player.
Among the many guest privileges is the use of the adjoining Palladio’s 450m Spa and Ulivo Restaurant, and complimentary transportation to the Bauer Hotel in San Marco and access to the De Pisis Restaurant. Minimum stay is 4 nights.
