This absolutely charming light-filled apartment (800 sq ft) is situated on the fifth floor of a period building, with lift, on the Ile St. Louis, one of the most enchanting places to stay in Paris. With its mixture of handsome 17th century architecture, modern boutiques, narrow streets and magnificent views from its tree-lined quays, it remains delightfully unspoiled. Its main street, Rue St. Louis en l’Ile, which runs lengthwise through the island boasts a baroque church, boutiques, old-fashioned bistros and brasseries, food shops, a florist, bakeries and a wonderful cheese shop. Many of the main attraction in Paris are within an easy walk, including the Pompidou Centre, the Notre Dame, the Louvre, the Sainte Chapelle, the Latin Quarter and the Marais. The apartment is accessed via security doors into a landscaped cobblestone courtyard, full of trees and flowers. The apartment is at the rear of the courtyard and there are views over the surrounding rooftops, to the dome of the Panthéon in the distance, romantically lit at night. Sunny and inviting, the accommodation works well for a couple, or four or six people. One of the bedrooms can double as a second sitting room, if required. The two bedrooms can interconnect, or be fully closed off and each has independent access to the bathroom. There are also two super-sized sofas in the living room which can be made up as single beds on request. The polished wooden floors and white walls are a backdrop to the mix of comfortable contemporary pieces and antiques, paintings and luxurious fabrics. A minimum stay of five nights is allowed at this apartment.
