For those who know Paris well, the rue du Cherche-Midi is one of those discreet, quintessential Parisian streets that offer a rich diversity of shops, as well as numerous restaurants, bakeries, and cafés. It runs from the Place de la Croix Rouge (which is just a 3 minute walk from St. Germain des Prés) all the way down to the Montparnasse area. The closest metro stations for the apartment are Duroc and Montparnasse and there is a taxi stand about two blocks away. The Hotel Ferrandi is just two buildings away and the famous Poilâne Bakery is at the opposite end of the street, down towards St. Germain des Prés. The Bon Marché department store with its gourmet grocery store (La Grande Epicerie) is just a few blocks away as well.
The apartment is situated on the first floor of a completely refurbished building, dating from the 1820’s. The building is accessed by both front door and inner door security codes and there is a modern lift. The view out over a large garden (with church and dome just behind the garden) makes this a very peaceful setting in the heart of the city.
The interiors (90m2) are decorated and furnished in a contemporary style. The kitchen is equipped with the best appliances and the bathrooms are beautifully fitted, and have stone floors. Although both bedrooms have single queen size beds, there are 2 sofa beds in the living room, so the apartment can easily sleep 6 people. The spacious living/dining room area faces west and is full of light; but the electric shutters can be closed to provide total darkness for the bedrooms and the living room. Amenities include cable TV, mini hi-fi, telephone and answer machine, broadband internet with wi-fi (and ethernet cable connection) and hairdryer.
